Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Hand Tremor In An Elderly Person Be Treated?
My 92 year old mother was sitting in her chair and all the sudden her right arm started shaking g them her right hand balled up into a fist. In a few minutes it would straighten out. 10 - 15 minutes later the same thing again. Off and on good part of the day.
In geriatric age, tremor of limbs either, upper or lower is a pretty common phenomenon and no specific reasons are there. But old age is considered as one of the main causes. To find out the exact cause; MRI, nerve conduction test, EKG and other are the test could be advised. Good nursing care is advisable.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain,
