How Can Frequent Urination Be Treated?
Hi my mother is a healthy 74 year old lady. she has been prescribed vagifem 10mg for urinary problems ie a frequency to go to the toilet, even if shes just been there. This problem is about a month old. She is scared to take the vagifem because of the risk of stroke etc. she has taken an over the counter remedy called cystapurin which has helped. Can you advise the correct way to go? or a vagifem alternative please. Thank you margaret

Frequent urination in the elderly may be due to urinary tract infection or diabetes mellitus or cystitis or stress incontinence or spinal cord compression or peripheral neuropathy etc.
Please get it done a urodynamic study, urine examination and blood sugar and ECG. Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
