How Can Foul Vaginal Odour Caused By Retained Tampon Be Treated?

I had a very bad odor like something was dead coming from my vagina my husband said it was so bad it made him sick especially after Sex today í went to Pee and í really did smell like something was dead inside me so í got some soap and a wash cloth and was washing down there and when í went in with my finger to clean inside i felt something so í pulled it out and it was a tampon that was bloody and very stinky í had my period 3 weeks ago and í cant believe í didnt realize í had it in there Im worried now cause of the odor and not knowing how long it was actually lost up in there í dont have any other symptoms but i still have the bad odor should í go see my ob/gyn or will the odor go away soon í feel so stupid not noticing something like this what should i do?

Hi I think you should consult a gynecologist for complete examination. You may be having some vaginal infection. You may need some antibiotic and antifungal drugs orally as well as vaginal to treat that. Also use some vaginal wash to maintain a normal ph of vagina. Hope it helps.
