How Can Fistulectomy Surgical Wound Be Treated?

hi. I have had a fistulectomy recently (March last week) for fistula (which followed after I had an Abscess about a year and half ago. I trust the surgery went off well and healing has been steady but slow. I am doing Sitz bath 2-3 times a day and am on Duphalac and Cremaffin for digestion. I was told that I had a rather simple fistulae and the chances of recurrence after fistulae after fistulectomy is near nil. However I am now a bit worried as there is still a very small portion (near to the anal opening) of the surgic wound still to heal fully I believe, as I get a very small amount of discharge every day (not more than a drop per day). Its light yellow and not smelly. I do not have any blood discharge or any unusual pain or swelling in the area. Is there any chance that the fistulae is still left somewhere there, and after the wound heals (which I hope it would!), the pus will again form inside and result in second fistulae??

General Surgeon 's  Response
Since the doctor has informed you that it was a simple fistula, and the surgical removal of the fistula tract was complete, there should be no chance of a recurrence. Please continue with the sitz bath,Duphalac and Cremaffin. You may apply an antibiotic cream like Neosporin or Mupirocin cream twice a day to the area yet to heal. Very important is good hygiene. The remaining area should heal in 7 to 10 days time. Please prevent constipation by taking good amount of fruits, vegetables and other fibers.
