How Can Fever In A Child Be Treated?

hi my 6 yr old has the flu. hes gotten a fever for 3 days every 2 weeks since may 15. may 15 fever, june 5 fever & yesterday another one, so i took him to the dr to make sure something wasnt lingering in him. my dr had a nurse sitting in for him & he took a flu test & its influenza b. the nurse said my son needs to take tamiflu. i am against most vaccines & do not trust a lot of the meds out there. the nurse also said that the last 2 fevers werent related to the flu he has now. cant the flu be treated at home, just like when i was a kid?
