How Can Fatty Liver Be Treated?

An ultrasound taken of my liver in 2014 listed Hepatic steatosis as an Impression. Common bile duct measured at 22 mm. That seems to be about half the size it should be? I was diagnosed with NASH in April and have cirrhosis of the liver. What went wrong?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

NASH is NON ALCOHOLIC STEATOHEPATITIS. It is not uncommon to see cirrhosis in non alcoholics.Excessive intake of diet rich in fats can cause fatty liver which progressto cirrhosis over time.So one need to cut down on fat intake, exercise regularly to decrease weight and prevent obesity.Take diet rich in fibre. Do not consume alcohol.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
