How Can Facial And Back Vitiligo Be Treated?

I AM VITILIGO PATIENT. I HAVE VITILIGO ON MY FACE IN RIGHT HAND SIDE. BUT THE PROBLEM IS THAT I HAVE NEW WHITE PATCHES ON MY BACK BUT DOCTOR IS SAYING IT IS HYPOPIGMENTATION(PHOTOSENSITIVITY) NOT VITILIGO BUT IN FUTURE IT MAY BE TURN IN VITILIGO.I HAVE CONSULTED ANOTHER DOCTOR HE HAS THE SAME OPINION . HE SAID YOU HAVE SEGMENTAL PART . AND YOUR VITILIGO IS VERY MILD IT MAY BE CUR.E. IS THAT TRUE. VITILIGO CAN BE CURE.

Hello,

I can understand your concern for vitiligo and its related treatment options. I can get from your query that you are suffering from the problem of "Vitiligo".

Vitiligo or white skin disease is a condition in which colour giving cells are damaged. Therefore these are not able to produce colour to the skin. The resulting state is manifested as white skin problem.

I my patients I use topical steroids as well as oral steroids to be used for vitiligo lesion.

There are multiple types of oral and topical treatments or combination treatment including methoxalen lotion and steroids available to take care of the problem.

I also prefer to give PUVA therapy to the patients in oral and topical forms.

The treatment should only be started by an experienced dermatologist. The most important part is that you must have good patience of multiple of months to see the visible results.
