How Can Elevated Uric Acid Levels Be Treated?

My Uric Acid level is very high at 9.5 and my metabolic panel is normal except for a slightly increased liver function test (Alkaline Phosphatase). Also, I am extremely low in Vit. D. I had Gist four years ago and have been diagnosed with Dercom s Disease. My diet is already low purine most of the time and I am now taking, as of today, very high dose of Vit. D. Could the uric acid level and the vitamin D deficiency be an added reason for very extreme joint and muscle pain? Also, my basophils absolute count is 0.0. What does that mean?

Hello,

Yes, that both can do this. About Basophil counts, you should not worry in most the people they are 0. That uric acid should be decreased by taking allopurinol a xanthine oxidase inhibitor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
