How Can Elevated Liver Enzymes And Eosinophils Levels Be Treated?

I am on 3000 mg of keppra daily. My keppra blood level is 36 which I know is in the therapeutic range. But now my liver enzymes and hemoglobin, and eosinophils are elevated. I've been on several other medications for epilepsy that did not work. Also started getting sick ( cold symptoms) and gaining weight? What should I do about this?

1. As you are already a diagnosed case and under treatment, let me clarify regarding some details:

i. keppra [levetiracetam] is an anticonvulsant drug used as an adjunct in partial seizures and nasopharyngitis [commonly known as cold] is a documented side effect of the drug, but although there is no documented evidence of weight gain while on bein keppra, still, numerous patients have told about weight gain while on the drug, [check with your Neurologist what he has to say]

ii. regarding the possibility of elevated liver enzymes, although keppra doesn't cause liver functions to be abnormal, however, it is written that SP [specific precautions] should be taken in people with hepatic/renal impairment [so consult with a Hepatologist for any underlying liver disease]

PS. keep a note that although these tests are sensitive but very nonspecific and serve to detect liver disease rather than quantitative liver function so their high values don't signify a serious complication most of the time, it is the underlying pathophysiological process which needs to be diagnosed and managed.
