How Can Elevated Cholesterol Levels Along With Muscle Ache Be Treated?

I have very high cholesterol but can t take statins as I get terrible muscular pain. My Dr. Just put me on Zetia in combination with 200 mg of ubiquinol. I ve only been on the Zetia for 1 week, the ubiquinol for 2. My arm is aching where I broke it two years ago and my legs are starting to ache too. Am I having the same issues I had on statins?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Statin can cause severe muscle pain in some individuals.

If you can not tolerate the side effects, you can consult a physician and switch to other drugs like Gemfibrozil.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
