How Can Elevated Blood Pressure Be Treated?

Quick way to bring down blood pressure. My blood pressure has been very normal and without medication, but this week I have been eating a lot of homemade soup and I think the salt is causing my blood pressure to go up to 150/73 and also 160/ 70. I m 84 yrs old and in excellent health and don t take any medication except Prolia for osteoporosis and I weight 101 lbs, 5 tall.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
I have seen he details and understand your concern. Please understand that BP does not go up by taking additional salt for just a few days. Salt (Sodium), stimulates a BP increasing series of actions in the body. But it takes quite a few weeks to months, to lead towards increasing BP. Therefore, to reduce BP you will have to take some drug (hypotensive) like Amlodepine . It will help in rapid reduction of BP. Thanks.
