How Can Earache Be Treated?

Hi doctor..my mom had fungal infection in one of her ears. It was cleaned up when we consulted a doctor and he suggested clotrimazole 1% drops. Initially(for 2-3 days) she was ok with the usage of those drops but after that she is suffering from pain again..especially after applying those drops it s getting a bit more pain. Kindly suggest what would it might be and how to proceed.

Hello,my name is dr,Dorina Gurabardhi.I understand your concern.
Some advices that I can give to you are:
-Use pain relievers. Pain relievers such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicines and acetaminophen..
-Apply heat to the ear, which may help with pain. Use a warm washcloth.
-Rest.
-Use eardrop
-If it doesnt get better use antibiotics, you can try amoxicillin 500 mg 3 times a day for 5 days.
