Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter 2 yrs 11 months old is suffering from ear pain from 2 days. I have been giving meftal P (5ml - 2 times a day)along with montair LC kid (5ml once a day). I can see some white hard wax in the left ear canal. Pain goes away when we give meftal P. I have clodibiotic ear drop too but haven t used it. Please suggest what should be the best treatment in this case.
As per your query, your daughter has symptoms of earache which is mainly due to accumulation of earwax, ear fluid, and could be ear infection.
Need not to worry. Avoid touching or pricking ear with any sharp object. Maintain complete hygiene of ear canal. Do warm compresses. Put otogesic ear drops.
If symptoms and episodes of earache are getting frequent, then you should consult ENT specialist and start treatment after prescription.
The Doctor may order certain test like audiometry, low and high pitched ringing to rule out conditions like exposure to loud noises and middle ear infection. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
