How Can Dryness And Discoloration On The Thumb Be Treated?

Hello , I have recently quit sucking my right thumb. And over the years the skin on the thumb has a rough, dry feeling and cracks from time to time. It also has a slight greyish color in comparison to my left thumb. I have tried hydrocortisone (2.5%) and see no changes. What is the cause and what should i do?

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, you can use emollients like liquid paraffin and vaseline in combination. If cracks persist get it reviewed by a dermatologist for any signs of fungal infection. Using vitamin C and E supplements alongside zinc help for better skin regrowth.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
