How Can Diarrhea Be Treated?

I had a severe sinus infection and then a stomach bug that was severe. ( I was taking Zofran every eight hours for three days). I started on augmentin for the sinus infection but changed due to it really messing with my stomach. I have since finished two full sets of antibiotics. I have bubble guts w/o diarrhea. What can I do to get my stomach back to normal? I was real sick about 2-3 weeks ago.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

I understand your concern. Since you have already taken antibiotics in such cases, I usually recommend probiotics and few diets change:

1) Avoid citrus foods and fruits.

2) Consume more yogurt and curd in your diet.

3) Advised to drink boiled water

4) Capsule pan 40 before food, to avoid gastritis. However, since it is a prescription drug, consult your treating doctor before taking it.

And also you can get stool microscopy test done along with the above advice.

Thanks for the query.
Get well soon.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. SUKHI, General & Family Physician
