How Can Diarrhea Be Treated?

Dear Sir, My wife is suffering from severe loose motion from today morning almost from 5 AM onwards (twenty to twenty five times). She has taken Norflox TZ two times, once enteroquinol and one Tablet Rifagut 400 and Two tablets PAN-D. She is taking ORS continuosly. She is recovering very slowly and frequency of loose motion now decreases. Is it safe to take one more tab of Rifagut 400 and enteroquinol this time. Thanks Rajesh

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your wife.

You must not take too much of medication for a purpose which even has not been properly diagnosed. If your wife has loose motions since morning and recovery seems to be possible it can only be the episode of food poisoning. Which only needs the proper rehydration.

Put her on plenty of fluids with ORS which you have done, no other medication except pain D is needed. In case the cramps are too annoying or there is associated blood in stools or fever than you must give her antibiotic like one mentioned in above query.

I don't think there is need of three antibiotics at the reason which even does not need one as per my opinion. Misuse of antibiotics can be dangerous in future life. Because resistance to these antibiotics if not used properly becomes costly in future.

Keep her hydrated, use only NorfloxTz, and ORS.

Hope you will understand my point of view, write us back in case you need any further assistance we will be happy to help.
