How Can Diarrhea Be Treated?

I have had diarreah for about 2 weeks now and I have taken imodium the last two days but it does not seem to help much. Not feeling sick but go about 6 times a day also at least once at night. Not sure if I should go straight to a specialist or go to the family doctor. History of Crohns from my mother and also just been diagnosed with Fibromyalga 6 months ago.

Hi,

As per your query, you are having symptoms of diarrhea which are mainly due to electrolyte imbalance, poor digestion, improper metabolism, and irritable bowel syndrome.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you consult gastroenterologist once for proper examination. The doctor may order a stool test, ultrasound, endoscopy along with that take history. The doctor may prescribe laxative, ornidazole or albendazole along with ranitidine. You should eat light and non-spicy food. You should avoid food like seafood and nuts. Keep your head elevated while lying down. Ciplox TZ is the right medication combination for you.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
