How Can Diarrhea And Vomiting In A Child Be Treated?

My 12 year old grandson has had diarrhea since last Wednesday. Then last night he vomited. There are no other systems meaning he doesn t have a fever and other than a stomach ache he feels fine. Should I take him to the doctors or do you think we should just let whatever this is take it s course? thank you

Hello and greetings

Mostly, it could be due to contamination of food causing gastroenteritis which if not sever can be easily treated at home.

Maintain good hygiene.
Hydrate him well especially ORS solution.
Give antispasmodic for stomachache relief.

If it persist or worse s, consult a gastroenterologist.
