How Can Diarrhea And Vomiting Be Treated?

My boyfriend had an ileostomy reversal on 6/13 (as a result of stage 3 colorectal cancer, he has been fine, on wed night we had steak tips and frozen veggies that had been in our freezer for 6 months for dinner. At 12:30AM he started vomiting and having diarrhea. Which lasted 24 hours. He has stopped vomiting and has taken Imodium AD to control the diarrhea. He says the area where his stoma was is now sensative and our fear if he stops the Imodium the diarrhea will return. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi,

The condition is food induced intestine infection.

Primary guidelines at present:
@ Avoid further intake of Imodium to avoid complications in such issue
@ Allow more liquids in sessions.
@ Prescription of antacid with anti emetic, GI specific antibiotic with Metronidazole on pack, Probiotics with lacto bacillus content will help best recovery.
@ Strict dietary measures to be followed.

Hope I have answered your query.
