Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As you have mentioned your father passed away recently and your mother's health has got affected significantly due to this. It was 70 years of marital history which gives very strong emotional bonding between husband and wife so the death of father must have given a strong emotional disturbance to your mother. This is known as grief period or adjustment disorder. She requires a lot of care from your side emotionally. Usually, person recovers from the grief period within 3 months. If your mother continues to have symptoms of depression, then you have to consult a psychiatrist for her and very low dose of antidepressants can be started for her. For diarrhea, you have to take her to physician and do all necessary investigations suggested. She may be having stomach infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prashant Gohil
