How Can Diarrhea And Abdominal Cramps Be Treated?

I had hernia surgery June 23,I could not have a bowel movement,doctor said to take dulcolax laxative,it worked,and I now have diarrhea with cramps for days,I have now been taking Imodium ,it works for a few hrs.than it comes back I have been like this for days,with should I do?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

You may want to consider stopping the imodium and using probiotics to see if restoring the normal bacteria in the bowel would help.

For at least 24 hours, use only liquids to reduce irritation to the bowel. After this time period, start a small amount of dry foods only.
If tolerated, can change the foods used.
