How Can Cystic Fibrosis Be Treated?

My daughters friend has recently been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. Her main complication is recurring pancreatitis. I'm looking for information on the correlation of cystic fibrosis and pancreatitis. she seems to be adhering to a strict diet and taking her enzyme's. what else can be triggering her recurrent attacks?

Thanks for contacting with your health concern.

1. As she is a diagnosed case and under strict diet regime, so remain under constant observation of your attending physician since he must be knowing all the triggering/provoking/aggravating factors and how to alleviate them.

2. As Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an autosomal recessive inherited disorder caused by mutations thus often affects the pancreas and digestive system [since in people with CF the mucus in these areas become thick and sticky] and when this happens it blocks normal digestive function as well as harbors infection [reason of recurring pancreatitis]

PS. Give Pneumococcal vaccine as Prophylaxis.

. Consult a Doctor for medical advise since it will require a team of specialist [Pulmonologist, Nutritionist, Gastroenterologist, Primary care provider, medical geneticist, and respiratory therapist]
