How Can Cystic Acne With Residual Blood Blister Be Treated?
i have a background in cistic acne for years, like the head like acne has gone away but now i just have this stuff kinda like a blood blister where kinda feels like a a squish toy where where i push down on it it gives way and the dark looking fluid just gets pushed to the other side. when i have tried to drain them the blood like realy dark comes out untill it is drained. Is this a blood blister or another type of acne? How do i treat it?
Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic
You seem to have cystic acne. This is severe grade of acne. This type of acne is usually associated with scaring. Oral Retinoids e.g Isotretinoin is the drug of choice for cystic acne and should be started without any delay. Along with oral retinoids Oral antibiotics e.g Azithromycin may also be started for the initial 2-4 weeks to take care of the inflammatory flare that may be present. Topical antiacne gels e.g benzoyl peroxide may also be indicated twice daily. I would suggest that you visit a dermatologist. Your dermatologist after thorough assessment of the severity of you acne would decide on the best treatment that should work for you, which in my view, most likely would be Oral Retinoids!
