How Can Cough Be Treated While Suffering From Chicken Pox?

My husband was diagnosed with Chickenpox yesterday morning and was having prior cough symptoms. I am helping him to calm down his chicken pox symptoms, but he is not able to control his cough. Is there anything that I can do to make him feel better with these conditions....please advise.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You can give him desloratadine to help him cope with itching and also it will help with cough

Also give ibuprofen or paracetamol for pain and fever.
Calamine lotion can be used tog a ther with antibacterial cream to prevent bacterial infection.
