How Can Congestion In The Ears And Dry Throat Be Treated?
I have what I think is congestion in my ears, my stomach is uneasy and my throat is very dry! It is also hard to hear and in the morning I cough and spit up bright green phlegm. Last week I went to the hospital for sores all in the inside of my mouth, they gave me penicillin and Ibuprofen. It has been 8 days, what is wrong with me?
I had gone through your question I can understand your concern. The congestion and sore can be because of throat infection or allergic reaction.
As you have uneasy stomach (acidity), there may be regurgitation of acid (reflux esophagitis), where the acid may get into throat and cause sore throat and ear congestion. Also as you said you took Ibuprofen and Amoxycilin for infection they have also potential to cause or aggravate the reflux esophagitis.
You must take certain precautions like avoid oily, junk food, avoid late night meals and drinks, raise your head side of bed little and have saline gargles at the time of sleep. If I would have been your treating doctor I would have recommended PANTOPRAZOLE 40 mg empty stomach.
Hope the answer to your question, write us again if you feel any further assistance needed.
Regards Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
