my lipase has been all over the charts 200 to 4400 terrible abdomonal pain , could this be a bacterial biofilm for five yrs i ha ve lost half my weight drs no real answers irritable bowel to acute chronic pancreatitis to juust biliary disease from car acci dents at age 7 , no energy need pain meds or can not.... function especially with recent diagnosis of fibromyalgia . i told drs about terrible body pain . any ques or thoughts? YYYY@YYYY

elevated lipase can either be from fat with visible problems or pancrease. If the amylase is also elevated, then pancreas. Period. There can be many reasons to have pancreas irritation these include viral disease (generally very short duration) or many medications. It can be gallstones, tumor or most likely with chronic elevation, scarring and poor drainage of the pancreas from previous inflammations.
First, not eating anything for at least a week to see if the pancreas calms down. Then, substituting other sources of pancreatic enzyme (pill) for what the pancreas puts out might also be helpful.
