How Can Chronic Constipation With Fecal Impaction Be Treated?

Hello, i am a white male, age 24, no chronic health conditions outside of orthopedic issues. 6 0 190lbs. I believe I may have a fecal impaction. I take roxicet (oxycodone) for ruptured disks in my back. Occasionally, during periods of flare up, I have to take the medication more frequently than I normally would have to, and it has caused constipation in the past. At this point, I haven t had a bowl movement in approximately a week, and now I can feel it at the end of my rectum, but despite all my exemplary efforts, it will not pass. Some brief and minor bleeding occurred once. I read that back pain is a possible symptom, and I have been experiencing excruciating and increased lower back pain, but as it is my L3 and L4 that are herniated, I cannot tell if it is a result of that or a result of the possible impaction. I have experienced additional symptoms as well. What are my treatment options, I would like to avoid a trip to the emergency room or doctors office at all possible costs. Your rapid response would be most appreciated, as I am in a great deal of discomfort and would like nothing more to clear this up and finally have a bowel movement. Thanks so much!

Hi Dear!!Thanks for your query to HCM.
Read your query and understood your health concern.I feel concerned about your health issues.
Based on the facts of your query, You seem to suffer from-
Opium painkiller induced -Constipation-
Methylnaltrexone(Relistor) or Naloxone(Targinact) are special opioid receptor antagonist which act without reducing pain reducing actions of opioid.
Stool Softners/ Cathartics / Glycerine suppositories / Buscopan suppositories 1-2 at night rectally / or Mannual evacuation are the ways which you could try with help of your doctor.
Hope this reply would help you to plan further treatment with your doctors there.

Welcome for further query in this regard if any.
Good Day!!
