How Can Chronic Bronchitis Be Treated?

Yes. I have a very bad case of bronchitis and today came down with a cold as well. Since I already am taking Escitalopram at night and Butalbital in the morning, what would be safe for me to take to relieve the symptoms I am now suffering with both the bronchitis and the cold. Thank you.

Hello,

Bronchitis may be due to virus/allergy/asthmatic variant of bronchitis seen in eosinophilia. Avoid cool water, allergen exposure, use water vapor inhalation thrice a day, salt water gargling thrice a day.

Take tablet Amoxicillin plus Clavulinate acid twice a day for five days, tablet Montelukast Levocetirizine once a day at night for 1 week and tablet Deryphylline twice a day for five days. If symptoms persist, consult your physician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
