How Can Chest Congestion And Cold Be Treated?

I have been sick with chest congestion and cold etc. Yesterday and today I faintly smell/ taste ammonia at back of nose and throat. I’ve been drinking fluids and urine is clear. I’ve been googling this and it says renal or kidney disease! My feet aren’t swollen. Now I’m scared.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You might be having a throat infection and post nasal drip. Do not google your symptoms. It may mislead you and cause lots of anxiety. Instead, consult a doctor. You may become better with a course of antibiotic tablet erythromycin thrice daily for five days. Do salt water gargling. Drink hot water.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sanjay Kini
