How Can Canker Sores In The Mouth Be Treated?

Hi, I have been to my Doctors several times about the sores I have in my mouth, the doctors keeps telling me they are canker sores and they will go away on there own, but its been three months on going with these sore, in the beginning they gave me antibiotics but I had to take it twice because they where taking long to go away, they went away for about a week and came back, went back to the doctors and they gave me something else, this time they went away pretty fast and once again there back, this time the doctor said they would go away on there own but no success, they ae so pain for you cant eat or drink anything without being in so much pain, don t even want to go back to my doctors because I don t think he will do anything..

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,my name is dr.Dorina Gurabardhi.I understand your concern.I suggest you to:
-Avoid foods that irritate your mouth, including citrus fruits, acidic vegetables, and spicy foods
-Avoid irritation from gum chewing
-Brush with a soft-bristled brush after meals and flossing daily, which will keep your mouth free of foods that might trigger a sore
Pain from a canker sore generally lessens in a few days, and the sores usually heal without treatment in about a week or two.
Hope my answer was helpful. If you have any other question Ill be glad to help.

Regards,
dr.Dorina Gurabardhi
