How Can Bronchiectasis And Pneumonia Be Treated?
I have moderately severe bronchiectasis with associated. bouts pneumonia. recently had pic line so I could take IV antibiotics. I also received 40mg prednisolone. Am trying to get off the steroid with decreasing dose which has increased my symptoms. Any suggestions?

Hello,
If you were using prednisone or other corticosteroids for more than three weeks you should taper it gradually to reduce dosage and stop it.
You can lower dosage with 5 mg gradually if you are taking 40 mg. Reduce dosage and once you reach 20 mg lower dosage gradually by 2.5 mg until you reach 10 mg. Decrease dosage by 1mg till 0.
