Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
In the past 2 months my teeth have been a problem....I have had one tooth pulled, a root canal on another tooth, I had a filling replaced today that fell out, and as soon as I got home from the dentist, a piece of another tooth broke off while I was chewing a piece of celery! This has me really concerned. I religiously see my dentist every six months and follow good hygiene practices.
It looks like a number of teeth are decayed that is causing breakage and needs of filling..
As you have got a filling in a tooth done and it has dislodged, so it is the first thing that you should get the filling re-done to avoid secondary decay in the tooth. This is because there will be food lodgement in the empty cavity of the tooth and there will be bacterial overgrowth and secondary infection in the tooth..
If a piece of tooth broke off then first of all get it clinically checked. If a large piece is fractured and the tooth has become sensitive or painful, in that case get an x ray done to get checked it the nerve of the tooth is exposed or there is superficial damage..
If the nerve is not exposed then filling or capping can help..
In case if there is nerve exposure then root canal treatment should be done followed by capping in-order to save the tooth.
Hope this helps..
Regards..
