How Can Breathing Difficulty And Chronic Cough Be Treated?

I have had skip breathing for the last 3 years. I AM ON THE CPAP nightly. Now I am at the point where I get very tired when I exert any effort. I had a broncosopy done about a month ago. A biopsy was done on a small lymph-node but everything was negative. Showed no positive cancer cells. I am a 68 year old female that is use to doing everything for my self. I have had a croopy cough for the last 4 months. When I cough, my head feelings like it is going to explode. I have not been diagnosed with sinus, so I don t know what is going on. YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptom seems like COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). You should undergo investigations for obstructive sleep apnea.

You probably feel tired because you are not able to sleep restfully at night. You could get bronchodilators like Ascoril.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan
