Hello Xavier,
thanks for using Health Care Magic

HbA1c value of 8.5 is definitely high and by definition,
you are a diabetic. This high value is indicative of the
management you have had for your high blood glucose
levels in the past which has not been the best as high levels
of HbA1c indicates chronic poor control of blood sugar level.

The repeated low levels of blood sugar while you were on
daonil were probably due to the hypoglycemic effects of
daonil and likely, the dosage you were taking was much
higher than you required.

Also, you do not need to take daonil on an empty stomach
or take it without eating. Daonil is taken shortly before meals

You need to meet your doctor or endocrinologist to follow you up.
A second drug might be added to better control your situation.
Best regards
Dr Achuo
