How Can Bipolar Disorder Be Treated?

Hi ,I have been diagnosed with bipolar ,and have been on a lot of medication before ,i have been taking effexor in themorning and at night apo-valproic ,olanzapine ,teva divalproex ,venlaxfaxine but it stopped working ,and also caused me rapid gain weight,also effexor makes me want to vomit.would you recommend any other antidepressant which would be efficient for me .

Hi,

Bipolar disorders usually affect your mood which lasts from mania to depression the drugs which you have mentioned are effective and it leads to benefit you from depression and mania also.

So if you want to discontinue drug I would recommend you for psychotherapy cognitive behavior therapy and psychoeducation if you have a side effect of drug-like vomiting nausea then you should withdraw from the drug after taking proper advice from your treating doctor.
