General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Yes, avascular necrosis is commonly encountered in the hip.
This condition is usually caused by:
• Long-term use of corticosteroid
• History of transplant
Bisphosphonates use (especially on the jaw)

Early diagnosis and treatment are needed to prevent joint destruction or hip replacement. The therapy that usually chosen are:
• Core decompression
• Removing part of the inner layer of your bone
• Bone transplant (graft). This procedure can help strengthen the area of bone affected by avascular necrosis.
• Bone reshaping (osteotomy)
Joint replacement
Regenerative medicine treatment

You can discuss it with your treating doctor. Also, for the possibility of walk better do it as soon as possible.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nurul Falah
