How Can An Ovarian Cyst Be Treated?

Hi I was told I have a cyst on an ovary and ovary is adhered to my uterus. Lots of very painful and heavy period and constant pain when not bleeding to - ultra sound showed the above. I went for a smear which was unsuccessful as it was so painful and told there was fatty tissue at tip of cervix which made it difficult. I worried about what this could be.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Usually, the treatment of ovarian cyst include antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, and hormonal therapy.

However, sometimes watchful waiting is enough. There are some diagnostic tests that can help decide the Best treatment strategy. Should be in close contact with a gynaecologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
