How Can An Insect Bite Be Treated?

I had an engorged tick on my waist band in a place I could not see it. Thinking it was a tag mole, I put a bandaide on it. All told, the tick was attached 4 or 5 days before it fell off during a bandage change. What should I do now. Do I need to see my primary care doctor?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Some advice that I can give to you is:
- Wash the affected area with soap and water.
- Apply a cold compress or an ice pack to any swelling for at least 10 minutes.
- Use Calamine lotion for local relief.
- Use antihistamines for the itching.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
