How Can An Injury On The Shin Be Treated?

My son has an injury to his shin. The abrasion looks to be healing and he states it does not hurt, is not warm to the touch and there is no redness or swelling. My concern is that he says when he pushes on the area it feels as if there is fluid squishy under the skin. Should he have it looked at again?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

This is the result of trauma and accumulation of fluid under the skin ( Swelling). So, you don't have to worry if there are no signs of infections such as discharge, redness and warm skin. It will take a few days to resolve completely.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Abed Tahrawi
