I HAVE A MILD INFECTION IN MY BIG TOE WHICH IS GETTING BETTER BUT IS STILL THERE. THE DOCTOR PRESCRIBED CEFADROXIL 500 MG IX A DAY. THE MEDICINE MAKES MY STOMACH SICK. DON T KNOW IF I SHOULD TAKE THE CHANCE OF THE INFECTION JUST GOING AWAY ON ITS OWN TO AVOID TWO WEEKS OF STOMACH SICKNESS.

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern infection of toe and stomach upset.

As you said it has started healing, if you think there is no pus no fever and wound is healing properly you do not need to take medication more then a week.

Second thing you must take any of the proton pump inhibitors like pantoprazole empty stomach in morning to prevent the stomach upset. Also avoid junk food, oily, and spicy foods during the mean time.

Hope you will be healthy soon, write us back in case you need any further assistance in this regard.

Regards
Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
