How Can An Enlarged Prostate Be Treated?

My 67 years old husband is experiencing enlarged prostate symptoms, frequent urinating during the day and through the night, low tetesterone affecting sexual activity. The prostate supplement he is taking has not improved his symptons. Is there a natural supplement that works for prostrate health?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It includes medical treatment or if required surgical intervention. Medical management includes
Tamsulosin 0.4 mg - a preferred drug for symptomatic relief.
Dutasteride 0.5 mg - five to six months to reduce prostate volume.
Surgical treatment includes
TURP - transurethral resection of the prostate
A minimally invasive procedure like laser treatment - coagulation necrosis or open prostatectomy. Please take surgeon opinion for your condition. According to the size of the prostate accurate decision can be taken.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Hiren Hirpara
