How Can An Enlarged Prostate Be Treated?

I have an enlarged prostate, I take fenasteride and rapaflo to be able to urinate regularly. However, tonight I drank a few beer, and now I feel that I cannot void completely. It is very uncomfortable and a sensation that I have experienced before. Rather than going to the ER, would taking another Rapaflo ease this problem?

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Rapaflo or Silodosin is used by men to treat the symptoms of an enlarged prostate .

It does not shrink the prostate, but it works by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and the bladder.
This helps to relieve symptoms of BPH such as difficulty in beginning the flow of urine, weak stream, and the need to urinate often or urgently (including during the middle of the night).

Rapaflo is usually taken once daily with a meal.
At the other side Rapaflo lowers blood pressure and may cause dizziness or fainting. This is very common if you take it bouble dosis.

So i don't recommend to take another Rapaflo because it can be dangerous.
I suggest to follow your doctor's dosing instructions very carefully and for the right solution of your actual symptoms i suggest to contact as soon as possible, your treating urologist.

Hope this is helpful.
Take care.
