How Can An Ear Infection Be Treated?

I believe I have an ear canal infection. I don t have insurance or the money to go to a doctor. I am working with extremely limited funds. Are there any home remedies I can do to help alleviate the pressure? I have tried laying on a hot towel. I have also taken a lot of pain medication and nothing seems to be helping. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.

Hi welcome to the health care magic

Pain medication will relieve pain only..
Infective foci will not be cleared by analgesic drugs.....

You probably having otitis media infection of ear.... As having pain history

I would say that Otoscopy needs to be done in your case because Otoscopy will show if any perforation present, or if impacted wax or fungus infection present.....

Treatment is different for different etiology

If fungus seen in Otoscopy then topical antifungal prescribed....

Usually patients having bacterial infection for which topical ofloxacine drops can be put in ear four times a day... For five days...
Oral antibiotic course also given....

But if pain because of fungus or wax then antibiotic will not work

Take care

Hope your concern solved

If there is money issues then some organizations hospital or government hospital nearby can be visited to consult otorhinolaryngologist
