How Can An Anal Abscess Be Treated?

I have heart failure. I take nicorandil for angina. I have now developed an anal abscess/ suspected fistula. Due to see consultant, who recommends stopping nicorandil.
My GP surgery say they can't prescribe an alternative drug, as they all have similar side effects. Please can you help.

1. Nicorandil is widely used to treat angina and anal ulceration is a recognized side effect of its use, and since GP surgeon can't think of any alteernative, have a consultation with a Cardiologist who might stop/change Nicorandil with Isosorbide mononitrate

2. before concluding nicorandil as the probable cause of ulceration other causes like Crohn's disease, tuberculosis, HIV, herpes simplex,syphilis, amoebiasis, and anal cancers (epidermoid and non-epidermoid)—should be excluded.

3. In nut shell: Nicorandil for angina is an important cause of anal fissure and ulceration, which can lead to considerable morbidity, so ideal is to stop the drug, though this should always be done in consultation with an experienced cardiologist.
