My father is previously known to be allergic to wasps. Today he was stung by a paper wasp around 8.5 hours ago. Swelling isn t going down, it is on his left cheek. He has taken Benadryl and also a topical bite cream. Do you think it s safe for him to sleep
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. What your father is experiencing is an allergic reaction to wasp Sting. Kindly do the following to overcome it. 1. Clean the area with mild antiseptic solution like Savlon twice daily. 2. Apply Neomycin with Hydrocortisone cream twice daily over the area as a thin layer after drying. 3. Take antiallergic medication Tablet. Loratidine once a day. 4. Take anti-inflammatory medication Tablet. Ibuprofen after food twice a day. 5. Apply Calamine lotion over the area at bedtime.
