How Can Acne Be Treated?

I just visited a Dermatologist today for the first time since acne problem started 6 months ago when I started Prednisone 50mg PO QD for auto-immune disease PMR symptom control. I just started today on topical Metronidazole prescribed by my MD. She mentioned Adapalene but didn t discuss further. Should I use Adapalene along with my new antibiotic?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Adapalene is a Vitamin A derivative that treats acne. You can use this along with the antibiotic. It is best to avoid Adapalene if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant soon.
