How Can A Wound Above The Buttocks Be Treated?

Hi, I have type2 diabetes, normally I,have no issue with a wound healing, I am with this one due to Location and to the constant stress. It is a stretch wound located at the top of the crack of my butt. It is about 1 long and it irritates me all the time by burning. I clean it always. Put lidocain, triple antibiotic, hydrogen peroxide and anything else I thnk will work. So far no luck?

Hi,

This is pressure sore. This occurs due to persistent pressure in such areas. I understand healing is not easy and may take quite some time.

The best strategy is to avoid outing pressure on it, so lying by side and use of air cushion bed is necessary. Besides daily wash and cleaning if the wound is necessary as is glycemic control.

Keep it covered under loose clenched dressing. Sometimes the wound may be deep and may need some surgical debridement.

So I would suggest showing it to a doctor, send an swb culture.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
