How Can A Torn Rotator Cuff Be Treated?

I am 65 years old and had orthoscopic rotator cuff surgery about 5 years ago to repair a small tear. The surgeon was unable to reattach the tendon at that time. I have torn the rotator cuff again, but this time to the bone. Surgery is scheduled in a week to be done with a full incision. How successful might this be? I work out 5 days a week and own and operate a cattle ranch.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Rotator cuff injury has to be treated by means of surgery.
Following surgery, it is essential for you to undergo rehabilitation by undergoing physiotherapy.
With both surgery and physiotherapy, the outcome of treatment is better.
Kindly consult Orthopaedician for evaluation and appropriate management.
Kindly follow all the advise given properly by your doctor so that the outcome would be good.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best and wish you good health.
