How Can A Skin Rash Post Flu Treatment Be Treated?

Had headache and bodyache flu in January. Then extreme fatigue with rash on chest and arms. Went to clinic and put on steroids for 5 days. Rash cleared. Week later the rash was back and also now on my legs. Stomach seems bloated but not constipated. Order a vitamin lotion on line and rash is gone except for slightly remaining on chest.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your case history you are having viral exanthem.
1. Drink plenty of water and avoid spicy foods.
2. Apply a soothing lotion like Calamine lotion on affected region twice daily.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like Levocetirizine twice daily for 7 to 10 days.
If problem persists then consult a dermatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
