How Can A Paraesophageal Hernia Be Treated?

my sister has just found out she has a paraephageal hernia but she has had to go to emergency rm three different times in six week to get that dignosis now she has got a appointment to go to another hospitol to see a speacialist in four week shouldn t this be taken care off sooner

Hello,

Most people do not experience any symptoms of their hiatal hernia so no treatment is necessary. However, the paraesophageal hernia (when part of the stomach squeezes through the hiatus) can sometimes cause the stomach to be strangled, so surgery is sometimes recommended.
